Capitol Subaru Helps Grant Wishes for Local Kids - Joe F

As a part of the 2018 Share the Love Campaign, Capitol Subaru raised $70,387 for Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area to help grant wishes for children with critical illnesses. One of the wish kids who benefited from their generosity is Riley, 10, whose wish is to go on an RV road trip with her family. On Thursday, June 27th, Jon Godinez and his staff surprised Riley by letting her know that her wish was coming true. Capitol Subaru and the Del Grande Dealer Group provided Riley with a gift bag filled with road trip books and game as well as balloons and cupcakes. Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area is grateful to Capitol Subaru and their customers for helping make wishes like Riley’s come true. Through their partnership with Make-A-Wish, Capitol Subaru is helping to ensure that every eligible child receives a wish so he or she can replace fear with confidence, sadness with joy, and anxiety with hope.

Capitol Subaru brings awareness to safe driving - Scott P

Safe Driving Video Contest/Scholarship In October, Capitol Subaru hosted a press conference to introduce the Safe Driving Video Contest/Scholarship program to the Silicon Valley. The concept was simple; high school students were given the opportunity to work with their friends to create a video centered around Safe Driving for teens - topics included being a safe passenger, texting and driving, and drunk driving. Capitol Subaru and the Del Grande Dealer Group committed to sponsoring this contest, gave a cash donation, and hosted the Awards ceremony. Along with the District Attorney's office, San Jose Police Department, and City Council. In January, the videos were submitted and judging commenced. The winners were announced in front of a packed house (hosted by Capitol Subaru). Members of the media and public service organizations watched as the videos were highlighted and scholarship money was awarded to the top three videos.

Winter food drive benefits Second Harvest Food Bank - Scott P

Second Harvest Food Bank During the month of November, Capitol Subaru (A proud member of the Del Grande Dealer Group) rallied their troops to collect food for Second Harvest Food Bank. Bins were placed in the Subaru showroom, and salespeople, finance managers, service advisors, and all Subaru staff members spread the word. When customers were called to pick up their vehicles, they were asked to bring in a can to donate. Staff posted flyers on their Facebook pages about what Capitol Subaru and Del Grande Dealer Group were trying to do. And in the end, on the day before Thanksgiving, Capitol Subaru donated three barrels of food to Second Harvest Food Bank.
